This 3-day Lamaze Intensive helps mothers and partners gain the knowledge, confidence, and calm needed for labour, birth, and early postpartum care.

Day 1 – Understanding Pregnancy & Preparation

Goal: Build awareness and prepare your body and mind for labour.

Topics Covered:

  1. Introduction to Lamaze Philosophy – understanding natural birth principles

  2. Role of Partner, Family & Friends – how emotional and physical support can shape your experience

  3. Hormonal, Physical & Emotional Changes – recognizing what’s normal and when to seek help

  4. Common Pregnancy Discomforts – natural remedies and posture corrections

  5. Baby Development Milestones – visualizing growth and connection with your baby

  6. Mindfulness & Visualization Practice – gentle breathing to relax your body

 

Day 2 – Labour, Birth & Comfort Techniques

Goal: Master the art of staying calm and in control through every contraction.

Topics Covered:

  1. Signs & Stages of Labour – what to expect, when to go to the hospital

  2. Lamaze Care Practices – freedom to move, continuous support, no routine interventions

  3. Managing Stress & Fear – understanding the mind-body link

  4. Perineal Massage – technique, timing, and benefits

  5. Comfort Measures During Labour:
    • Active labour positions
    • Breathwork and rhythm breathing
    • Massage and touch
    • Using the 5 senses for relaxation (music, scent, light, touch, taste)

  6. Possible Interventions – understanding your options (epidural, episiotomy, etc.)

  7. Induction Methods – natural vs. medical

  8. Immediate Postnatal Changes – what to expect in the first few hours

Day 3 – Breastfeeding & Newborn Care

Goal: Transition confidently into parenthood with nurturing, informed care.

  2. Latch & Feeding Positions – hands-on demonstration

  3. Newborn Care:
    • Appearance and reflexes
